In order to establish uniform requirements for all branches of JSC IDGC of the North-West in the field of environment protection the Environmental Policy of JSC IDGC of the North-West was approved by Order No.653 of December 17, 2012.

In order to enforce Order No.653 of JSC IDGC of the North-West of December 17, 2012 on Approval of the Environmental Policy and to perform efficient activities in the field of environment protection the Program for Implementation of the Environmental Policy of the Company for 2013-2015 was approved by Order No.660 of December 17, 2012.

The Environmental Policy of JSC IDGC of the North-West was developed in accordance with the Government's strategy in the field of environmental safety and efficient use of natural resources, requirements of environmental laws and regulations of the Russian Federation.

The Company fully recognizes the necessity to maintain environmental balance in the region that is why it sees its activities aimed at the environment protection as an integral part of its production activities and considers the increase of the environmental safety level as a top-priority goal of its activities.

The Environmental Policy of JSC IDGC of the North-West determines key principles, areas of the Company's activities in the field of environment protection and assurance of environmental safety in a long run.

The fundamental principles of the Environmental Policy of JSC IDGC of the North-West are:

  • recognition of the constitutional right of any person to favorable environment;
  • responsibility for ensuring environment protection in the development of electric grids of the Northwestern Federal District;
  • energy supply and efficient use of natural resources at the stages of transmission and distribution of electric energy;
  • reduction of negative impact on the environment by using state-of-art production technologies and management methods;
  • transparency and availability of ecological information, immediate notification of all stakeholders of any accidents occurred, all environmental consequences and measures taken for elimination thereof;
  • transparency and availability of results of environmental monitoring of the Company;
  • interaction with all stakeholders in the course of research carried out within the framework of the procedure for assessment of impact of entities of the electric grid complex on the environment in designing and building new facilities;
  • training and qualification upgrade of personnel of JSC IDGC of the North-West responsible for decision-making in the field of environment protection.

Implementation of the Environmental Policy will allow to:

  • reduce negative impact on the environment;
  • increase the Company's social accountability.

The management of JSC IDGC of the North-West will play a leading part in the implementation of the Environmental Policy and undertakes to observe the requirements of the environmental laws and regulations of the Russian Federation.
