Assessment of workplaces by labor conditions is carried out according to the requirements of regulatory documents regulating labor conditions at workplaces.

Assessment of workplaces by labor conditions allows to:

  • obtain a real picture of labor conditions at workplaces;
  • establish reasonable additional payments to the employees for harmful and (or) arduous labor conditions according to the results of instrumental gaugings of harmful production factors;
  • establish the account of workplaces with favorable labor conditions; according to the results of assessment of workplaces to provide work clothes where necessary according to the working conditions;
  • account of workplaces with privileged pension coverage;
  • obtain the opportunity to discount the insurance tariff for compulsory social insurance from industrial accidents and occupational diseases.

In 2012 the Company conducted attestation of 2,060 workplaces for the total amount of RUB 3.9 million.

The main reasons of incompliance of workplaces with legal requirements are:

  • deviation of lighting pulsation coefficient from the normative value;
  • increased level of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation at workplaces equipped with personal computers;
  • noise and vibration exceeding the maximum permissible level due to constructive defects of equipment;
  • increased level of harmful substances in the air of the working zone.

Based on the results of assessment of workplaces by labor conditions Plans of Actions for Improvement of Labor Conditions and Health are developed and approved and responsible persons are appointed. In 2012 711 activities for bringing of workplaces into compliance with the effective standards and rules were carried.

In order to reduce harmful production factors at workplaces where there is no opportunity to carry out constructive activities, the following organizational measures were developed:

  • to provide regulated breaks in order to prevent hypothermia in case of working outside in the cold season;
  • to use personal protective equipment for hearing organs in order to reduce the harmful impact of noise;
  • to use vibration-absorbing floors and shoes reducing the harmful effect of general vibration;
  • to observe a labor and rest mode in order to reduce negative impact of tension and difficulty of the working process;
  • to use portable lights to create normal lighting conditions in the equipment service zone.
